Job Family Description

Analytics Decision Sciences team is responsible for handling projects to support the modeling \ forecasting needs within the financial services portfolios for a large global bank across one or more geographical regions. The work would primarily involve use of customer/operational data and application of statistical tools and techniques to achieve following
        Developing Statistical, Financial and Judgment based models to enhance the business decision making.
        Support business functions like forecasting & reserving.
        Continuous monitoring of models / forecasting trends in place and provide analytical recommendations for the same to the senior management.
The Global CMB team provides analytical solutions to various HSBC CMB portfolios ranging from Micro/Small to Mid-market companies across globe. The Team’s focus is on using logical thought process and relevant statistical techniques to understand and analyze product portfolio metrics and risk behavior to arrive at value-based optimum decisions. It provides strategic analytics support to the Global CMB; addressing specific analytics requirements for regions and emerging markets.
Clear understanding of the business requirement, design probable solution, critically analyse the data to come up with analytic recommendations and present the output in business language to ensure the recommended solution is properly executed to solve the business problem are few key responsibilities of the job holder.


Duties & Responsibilities


1.              Develop models / forecasting methodologies using SAS, Model Builder or other platforms.
2.              On-board and train junior analysts on various aspects of business, processes and infrastructure. Should be able to resolve their queries and assist them in project delivery.
3.              Responsible for end-to-end project management and flawless and timely delivery of projects assigned to him.
4.              Constantly look for opportunities to increase business value
5.              Work with multiple customers/functions on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
6.              Independently resolve queries/issues associated with a project and making sure that learnings are incorporated so as to avoid them happening again
7.              Understands business objective of the project and should conceptualize, design and implement the same while making sure that the output meets business expectations
8.              Gain knowledge of processes and drive implementation of process efficiency initiatives
9.              Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls
Skills & Qualifications

         4 year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed University with concentration on marketing, finance, economics or other quantitative field such as statistics, economics, engineering, business administration.

         Ability to comprehend intricate & diverse range of business problems, analyze them with limited or complex data and provide a feasible solution framework.

         Strong analytical skills with 1-2 years of proven business analysis experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of Credit & Financial Services highly preferred.

         Knowledge of forecasting and statistical modeling techniques, market research and multivariate analysis tools (e.g. factor and cluster analysis, conjoint analysis etc.).

         Knowledge of SAS or other equivalent analytical tools is a requisite.

         Intermediate level programming skills - VBA, SQL, etc. and knowledge of RDBMS – MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle, etc, and HTML scripting is a plus

         Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop andeffectively communicate complex concepts and ideas

         Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success
