The main reason for practicing Business Continuity planning is to create a backup plan which can prevent an organization from disasters. It includes both internal risks like cyber crime  system/technology failures, theft etc. as well as external risks like fires, earthquakes, floods and many more. From BCP a business gets a road map for systematic operations under any critical conditions. 

On the other hand it also enlarges company’s profitability and generates revenue. The company plans their business continuity considering the fact that they can be affected by any threat at any time and this planning gives them to do their task systematically.
