Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Develops models and conducts analysis independently and understands suitability of approach
• Creates new model inputs and executes variable reduction
• Is an expert on data quality issues and can supervise junior staff in their resolution
• Explain results to internal and external audience.
• Collaborate with analytics team to convert equations and prototypes into scalable, efficient systems.
• Work in fluid environment applying agile software development principles.

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience : 5- 8 out of which 1-2 years in R/Mahout programming language

Requirements

• Advanced degree (BS/MS/PhD) in a quantitative field (i.e., Statistics, or Machine Learning) from reputed institution.
• Software skills: R, Parallel R, NLP, Mahout, Hadoop+Machine learning, Perl, C, Python, C++.
• Deep knowledge of analytic methodologies (regression, signal processing, optimization, neural networks, etc.)
• Track record of analytical product development, innovation, or research (patents or publications)
• Industry Experience (eCommerce, Financial Services, Retail, Airlines, Defense, etc.)
• You are a ROCKSTAR developer and want to work with other ROCKSTARS.
• A high degree of mathematical fluency.
• The right balance of pragmatism and idealism. Some things really must be done right the first time, other things can be kluged for a while and fixed later. You should know how to reason about this and discuss with your team.

Preferred

• Experience as a member of high-powered analytics team in a startup or bigdata group
• Strong UNIX background (linux variants are also ok).
• Experience with statistics packages namely SAS, R, Matlab, Mathematica
• Experience in deploying analytical applications developed using SAS, MATLAB and other analytical tools into high volume production environments

Work Experience: Atleast 1-2 years experience in developing software on R language or Mahout.
