Job Description
Statistician
- Write clinical trials analysis plan through familiarity with data collection and validation process, provide statistical specification for statistical tables with some guidance.
- Perform statistical analyses of clinical trial data and produce and validate tables and graphs using SAS
- Follow formal QC procedures
- Familiarity with research relevant literature and regulatory documentation, under supervision
- Generate figures, tables and listings, including statistical analyses under some supervision
- Assist in ensuring that statistical standards and SOPs are followed.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Ensure proficiency in in-house computer facilities and software.
- Prepare presentations for local/professional forums.
- Effectively handle basic multi-task assignments
- Develop ability to mentor new statisticians.
- Act as trainers for new staff and assist QSI audit process
- Other project or QSI related duties as assigned by team leader.
SAS Programmer
- Familiarize with GSK environment – complete relevant e-learning and adhere to job specific SOPs and POLs.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, performance, productivity and quality.
- Get involved in project work independently.
- Generate figures, tables and listings, including statistical analyses.
- Perform Stage 1 and 2 Quality Control (QC) as per GSK QC guidelines. Develop skills for Stage 3 QC.
- Take responsibility for documentation of QC processes.
- Review and Input into key documents at the protocol level (e.g. CRF, DVS, RAP and Statistical reports) under supervision.
- Effectively communicate within team and with customers. Be proactive in Teleconferences and lead the discussions.
- Recognize and identify technical problems or data-related issues. Ability to explain routine technical issues with customers (e.g. Clinical, Data management).
- Familiarity with research relevant literature and regulatory documentation.
- Ensure proficiency in in-house computer facilities and software.
- Effectively handle basic multi-task assignments.
- Other project or Department related duties as assigned by team leader.
Desired Skills & Experience
Statistician
- Post Graduate Degree in Statistics.
- 4+ Years of experience
- High degree of programming and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Possess solid level of understanding of clinical trial process and study level publishing processes in area of specialization
- Ability to present to local function (e.g. functional team, Statistical Forums).
- Posses a high level knowledge relating to studies, business process and procedures aligned to GSK, DDS, QSI.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Considerable expertise in statistical methodology, defining analysis endpoints and sample size for clinical trials
Sound knowledge of SAS and familiarity with other statistical software packages.
SAS Programmer
- Bachelors or Masters Degree with programming knowledge.
- 2+ Years of experience in SAS Programming with minimum 1 year experience in Clinical domain
- High degree of programming and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Possess solid level of understanding of clinical trial process
- Ability to present to local function (e.g. functional team, PATH Forum).
- Posses a high level knowledge relating to studies, business process and procedures aligned to GSK, Quantitative Sciences – India (QSI).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Sound knowledge of SAS and familiarity with other statistical software packages.
