Job Description

Role Objectives and Aims

Within project teams under the guidance and leadership of senior team members, objectives of the role will be to:

1. Provide high quality, timely, statistical analyses to meet client needs

2. To advise on the best statistical approach on projects involving meta-analysis and mixed treatment comparison across different therapeutic areas e.g. oncology

3. Format, correct, process, query and analyse various databases and datasets, from multiple sources, using appropriate software tools (Stata, R, SPSS, SAS), to analyse and summarise the value and effect of clients’ products

4. Design and execute statistical analysis plan around hypothesis testing, sampling methodologies, data mining techniques, decision tree - CHAID & CART, multivariate analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis, linear & logistic regression and predictive modelling

5. Conduct and analyse primary and secondary research, which will shape the development of strategic recommendations

6. Deliver training on statistical methodologies, tools and interpretation of statistical parameters to the project delivery teams who do not essentially have statistics background

7. Write, refine, review and critique sections of reports, journal manuscripts and other deliverables for client or external delivery

Desired Skills & Experience

Profile Qualifications:

• Essential: a recognised first degree in statistics , econometrics or epidemiology

• Highly desirable: a relevant postgraduate qualification in statistics, medical statistics, epidemiology, health economics or a related subject Other qualities:

• Strong computing skills: MS Office including Access and Excel, SQL, and software related to data analysis (e.g. Stata, R, SPSS, SAS, or similar)

• A high degree of numerical and written accuracy and attention to detail

• Good communication skills, especially in the relaying of technical information

• Self-motivation, ambition and flexibility

• Organised, logical thinking

• Ability to work to team deadlines

• Keen interest in medical research, provision of healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry

• Commercial awareness
